“The Attorney General’s Office has been working with Sen. Dan Patrick to scrutinize the CSCOPE program for several months. We are deeply disturbed by the CSCOPE content and have significant legal concerns about the program’s operations. Inexplicably, CSCOPE’s officials still have not taken any real steps to address the very concerns that have been raised thus far. It is time for the veil of secrecy to be eliminated and we will continue working collaboratively with the Legislature until CSCOPE is held accountable for any potential improprieties.”
How about shutting it down while the investigation is going forward? It would save taxpayer money and the minds of our children. If the investigation proves that there is no harm being done, nor any improprieties in CScope, then it may be resumed. Fat chance of that happening. This is what the liberals would demand of a conservative agenda being carried out in our schools.
Amen John!!!
This is NOT an INVESTIGATION – it’s a statement made so the grassroots will quit asking for the AG’s office to do something – VERY DISAPPOINTING!
I live in Rockwall tx..our superintendent told in a town hall meeting that cscope is what the top school districts are using to teach New Starr test…my opinion why don’t we teach to SAT and ACT since these are the only tests our kids take to get into college…we spend so much of our tax dollars paying for tests that don’t help our children get into college but pass state tests that do nothing…my daughter is a junior and I pay to take SAT prep classes that I shouldn’t pay for if the school taught to SAT…CSCOPE is a rip off and being sold to districts as a lie…no curriculum should be used that is not approved by the state board…it is all about money and ripping off the tax payers…but most important hurting our kids..my daughter goes to tutoring because cscope is not easy to understand and her teacher HAS to use it but in tutoring she doesn’t…teacher hates using it but are forced to…I will be so glad when my child is out of public school…
